ORIGIN STORY:

Jazmin’s career started on the forefront of Urban/Street fashion in the 90s. Her first job was designing for The Notorious B.I.G's Brooklyn Mint line. She met her now business partner Kiki Kitty when she freelanced for FUBU Ladies. Together with Zareth 'Z Kitty' Edghill and Dorothy 'Dot Kitty' Antione they launched K.A.Kitties, a fashion consulting team (where she got the nickname ‘Jaz Kitty’). The Kitties won several grants and awards including the 'Making it Real' grant sponsered by Miller Brewing Co. and the 'Women in Business' grant sponsered by Balance Bar. Jaz has designed for nearly every American Hip-Hop Artist in existence, from The Notorious B.I.G to Nicki Minaj. Music has always inspired her work and gives her art and design style a street edge. Some of her biggest artistic influences include Andy Warhol, Patrick Nagel, Manga artists such as Tite Kubo and Shirow Miwa as well as the many brilliant, but unrecognized artists she has met along the way. She spent several years traveling the Anime/Comic Convention circuit promoting her graphic novel,'Broken Wings' and 'Model Life' which she illustrated for Isobella Jade. She has had work in exhibitions such as 'Art of the Other Arts' in Norfolk VA, and she will be at Superfine NYC again in fall 2024. Jazmin is currently still designing and making art in New York City.

MISSION:

Making it real. Any kind of creative work involves making the intangible, tangible. My art and fashion design work is largely influenced by the art and culture of Asia. My deep love for Japan & Korea keeps me on the cutting edge of both, art and fashion. They inspire each other and nothing makes me happier than when I can incorporate both into a single project.

In whatever form my work takes, my goal is always to inspire people to express who they really are.

BEHIND THE NAME:

“I stole the name 'Angel Trip' from the song by VAMPS. Hyde is my spirit animal, and KAZ...Let's just say I thank the music Gods they found each other. The vibe of that song fits how I feel about creating anything, be it clothing, comics, a painting, or a great conversation; it gives you a feeling like no other. It’s like…angel tripping.”

Jaz lives in New York City with her two cats.

She also volunteers every week at Ollie's Place Rescue Cat Adoption Center. On the rare occasion she isn't creating, she binges on Kdramas and Anime, and runs to the beach whenever she gets the chance.
